This product, like the VideoMic (VM), now the world’s biggest selling on camera shotgun microphone, is also destined to become an Industry standard and not only offers the same sound quality & performance as it’s predecessor, but also meets the industry demand for stereo recording.
Now videographers may use true ‘studio’ stereo recording techniques in the field with ease. The X/Y configuration enables the SVM to capture the true ambience of the recording space, while still offering a high level of rear rejection and low noise.
Fitted with a shoe mount, the SVM has the same low noise circuit design as the VM. The SVM offers 9V battery operation, an LED battery status indicator, a high pass filter switch, and a -10dB pad switch which allows for the mic to be used on most cameras with perfect level control.
You can also use the SVM as a remote mic on a stand, or a RØDE boom pole (optional accessory), which truly makes this versatile product well suited for all video applications including electronic news gathering (ENG), weddings, sports events & interviews.

2 high resolution 1/2" condenser capsules are mounted in a fixed X/Y stereo array, providing a very natural stereo recording, while still offering a high level of rear rejection.
Ideal microphone for capturing environmental and ambient sounds, as well as live music.
In-built shock mounting system: isolates the Stereo VideoMic capsule and electronics from its mount, providing isolation from external physical factors that may cause unwanted rumble and vibrations in the microphone.
Standard sized shoe mount: includes a 3/8" thread in the base for easy mounting on a boom pole or stand (note that cameras with proprietary sized mounts may require an additional adaptor).
40Hz-20kHz response
Selectable high-pass filter at 80Hz: prevents low end noise such as air conditioners and traffic from being recorded.
-10dB pad: selectable from the rear face of the microphone, allows recording of loud sound sources, such as live music or motorsport.
